PanzerBlitz PBEM with Opportunity Fire

Postby kbomb » Tue Jul 12, 2011 6:12 am

During a recent PBEM PanzerBlitz game, it became obvious that the "PanzerBush Syndrome" (whereby units can freely move without being fired upon) is a problem. The optional Opportunity Fire rules address this issue for FTF games, but I've yet to find a good system for incorporating them into PBEM. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Humm..... been quite awhile since I've done PB, but play "a lot" of ASL. With Def. Fire we simply stop the move when the defender fires and then send it back to see if the movement gets redone from there. Hope that helps.

If you play using VASSAL it may make the experimental impulse movement and return fire rule, or incrimental movement (as in the Wargamer's Guide to PB), or the use of PL rules with PB workable.

Suggest you use the Opportunity Fire rules from Panzer Leader (attached).

It may be hard to do via PBEM - since you would have to stop your opponent in the middle of his/her movement.
